Is there any place one can still acquire the Lost Pages version? I love ItO remastered, but I've heard that the original Iron Coral is cool and different. Can't seem to track it down, though.
Afraid not, the Remastered is the only version available now. No actual game content was removed from the original edition, just parts reworked some additional content in the adventure locations.
You can approximate the old version of the Iron Coral by ignoring everything past the first floor.
Curious question: What motivates a game designer to rework their after so long? Was it always a desire of yours to improve it after you initially published it, or fans were giving you loads of feedback over time, or something in between? (I've nowhere near your experience, that's why I'm genuinely curious😊)
It's a few factors really. After I released Electric Bastionland I thought I'd be done with ITO, but people kept asking me if there was a plan to do a new version. Coincidentally, the opportunity came up to work with Free League and Johan on it, so it all felt like a natural fit to do a sort of "luxury" version.
Happy tin anniversary, Project ODD!
